Don’t waste your time

Wouldn’t play a single file, kept freezing and I had to use force quit. Just use VLC, don’t waste your time.

Hardware Accelaeration finally…...

thanks for the update dev, happy to see that you guy finally add hardware accelleration but its kinda anoying to play the file first then press X to activate the hardware accell. Can you implement it on to the preferences so we can just choose to use it or not by default. Update on the review, i just found a problem with this app, problem with the audio downmix from muti channel movie files, it sound very echoing where it doesnt happen with the previous app or other app that i tested with.

Hijacks your video preferences

I downloaded this because VLC was having trouble with some .wmv files. Wondershare played them fine and I thought Id just found myself another great option for playing video. HOWEVER, I wanted to keep playing certain other movie types with VLC or Quicktime Player. I saw that all my movie types were now set to Wondershare Player -- no problem, I just used Get Info and changed my preferred player for those other types. But then a little while later I double-clicked a filetype I had set to open with VLC and guess what? Wondershare Player had hijacked my preferences and set itself as the default for all movie types again. I tried this a few times and Wondershare kept doing the same thing. I find this behavior inexcusable and was about to delete the program. Only after looking through the applications preferences, under "Associations," was I able to control what Wondershare would (and wouldnt) open and have it stick. Im giving it two stars because it did play the .wmv files I couldnt otherwise have played smoothly, and I was able to stop it from hijacking my preferences, though not using the normal and accepted Mac method.

Great looking Player, but it has its issues.

I love the look of the player it self. The transparency feature is great, the snap a picture is great too. It plays any video file which is amazing, but the bad part comes when after a while the video sound it starts to echo and i have to restart the movie. It has happend plenty of times with different videos. I hope is fixeble in an update.

Doesn’t work

Great app if you want to waste hard drive space, and lose system resources. If you are actually trying to watch a video I suggest trying other software.

Audio Echo Effect Anyone?

Within the first 10 minutes of playing a file (.MKV in particular), the sound between the left and right speaker gets off and an echo effect happens. This is when it is set to “Stereo” under the “Audio” tab in the settings. Unfortunately the only way to stop this is to switch the audio to either the L or R speaker entirely. There is no setting that I can mess with to change this, so it leads me to believe that it is the player or the file not my computer. It technically should be a 2 star app for this, however, I will grant it another star simply because of the shere amount of files it can open and how aesthetically pleasing it is.

major audio problem

Files that play well in other players have an issue playing in the Wondershare Player. Almost every 5 minutes, the audio distorts, requring a pause of the video and then a play to fix the issue. It is super annoying. Fix it, and the rating will go from 1 star to 5.

Format hungry

This app took over the opening rights to every format of media on my hard drives, audio and video. After discovering this, I promptly tossed it in the trash. Nothing irks me more than a developer who feels that they have the right to command every format their apps will handle without even asking the user if the user wants this option envoked. I dont care how good the app is, I consider automatically taking the option out of the users hands as arrogance, and I wont abide it, especially considering the work it cost me reverting all the formats back to the apps where I wanted them.

Terrible echo proplems

I thought this was the best player ever, it’s better than VLC and Mplayer extended but then I noticed this terrible echo problem which there is not way to fix. So I had to switch back to vlc and mplayer. Well the audio channel can to switch to either left or right but it cannot be played in stereo. but overall its an okay player. After the echo ploblem is fix it will be the best player ever :)

The windows version is better.

The windows version of this app is better. Cleaner interface and ther eare no audio issues like this version. I don’t know why the audio is jacked up sometimes where you hear the same audio twice. The only soloution has been to mute one channel (the left or the right) to listen to listen to the audio without doubling. The software, when it works is great, but it will just mess up again throuout the duration of the media you are playing. Please resolve this Wondershare!

the worst player

sound echo, slow playback… I wasn’t able to finish 20 min TV show with this player… I deleted it, the worst experience….

Terrible bug that creates echo when reproducing

It opens 95% of all video files that I have downloaded. Unfortunatelly, lately when it plays any type of file a terrible echo distorting sound shows up.

horrible

DOES NOT GET PAST LOADING SUBTITLE CACHE

Hijacks Preferences / Unable to Fully Uninstall

After experiencing some of the same frustrations as other reviewers (hijacking preferences, freezing, no audio), the final insult was being unable to fully uninstall the app. After uninstalling (supposedly) every video still shows a “download” drop-down box which often gets in the way of an “X” for closing a window, or other needed options. When you click the “download” tab (hopefully to get rid of it), the webpage jumps to an error page. Very invasive and very frustrating. Be wary of any software that leaves traces on your MAC after uninstalling, especially if it affects your daily operations!

Useful, but hijacks files over and over - NOT COOL!

I would give this appa higher rating, except for one MASSIVE issue - it hijacks file types. And it doesn’t just do it once - but even after I manually change the default app to open.mp3, m4a, and several other media formats, soon Wondershare player has hijacked them again. It doesn’t even require a restart - it just “happens”. EXTREMELY annoying and actually causing major problems on my Macbook Pro with media previews - the OS is apparently getting confused. Uninstalling… disapoinging.
